About Katie's Practice

Kathleen Biggs Wright is a member in the labor department of Frost Brown Todd. She combines the experience of in-house employment law counsel and private practice to assist employers in avoiding and defending labor and employment law claims. Katie concentrates her practice on labor and employment law issues, including litigation, arbitrations, conducting investigations, and advising employers on compliance with various federal, state and local employment laws. She was integrally involved in the successful mediation of a case involving over 300 plaintiffs with exposure exceeding $500 million and has experience representing a Fortune 500 company before the United States Department of Labor in over 40 wage and hour audits.

Katie rejoined the firm in 2009 after serving as in-house Employment Counsel for Kindred Healthcare for over four years. At Kindred Healthcare, she advised executives and managers in the Health Services Division, which included approximately 230 nursing homes in 27 states, on compliance with various state and federal laws relating to employment. In addition to her counseling role, Katie managed Kindred’s EEOC Charges nationally, conducted numerous workplace investigations, and developed various training programs, including a program entitled Preventing Harassment in the Workplace to comply with California’s state law requirements regarding harassment training.

Katie possesses vast knowledge of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and 1991, the Kentucky Civil Rights Act (KRS Chapter 344), the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (and the Older Worker Benefits Protection Act), the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, Kentucky's wage and hour laws (KRS Chapter 337), and various other employment laws, torts and contract causes of action.
